If I had to give a title to this winter, I think I would call it the Winter of Self-Awareness. (I’m not talking the naughty self-awareness that no one ever talks about.) I’m talking about looking into myself and being aware of some things I want to change. I’ve stayed home a lot due to my health and the frigid weather so it gives me some time to really be introspective. There are little things I want to “fix” like never buy a pair of socks again because they have multiplied in my drawers over the years. I also want to be better about puttingRead More →

There is nothing more exciting in a small town than the opening of a new restaurant.  (If you read the headlines on our front page you will realize the truth in that statement!)  It can be anything from a small independent sandwich shop to a larger franchise coming to the area.  If it involves new food, people will come.  (Heck, the food doesn’t even have to be new, people will still come!) I love when the season changes from summer to fall.  The colors of the trees outside are my favorite shades of orange, yellow, brown and red.  The air has just enough chill to warrant a coat but you don’t NEED one.  And the comfort food cravings make it easy to plan every meal. The only thing I don’t like about this time of year is the fact that I always catch a head cold!  I’ve had a serious case of the sniffles for the last week and I am just miserable.  If I typed liked I talked right now it would go something like this….IRead More →
